Compagnie Coloniale is the oldest tea brand in France, founded in Paris in 1848. It settled down for a long time at 19 avenue de l’Opera. At the beginning, the company operated in importing and selling chocolate, and then, tea became its priority and specialty as the market was flourishing at the end of the XIX th century.
They have been selecting teas from the greatest plantations around the world and created blends that are highly sought after by top tea salons and establishments. The leaves go through a steam-flavouring process where they are moisturized with hot steam in stainless steel vats. This makes the aroma stick to the leaves during the drying process along with fruits, spices, and flowers sourced around the world for the different varieties. The iconic tea boxes and packaging process are done in its own factory in France, which emulates its own Made in France branding.
