Chifferi Rigati, whose name derives from the German word “Kipfel”—a crescent-shaped Austrian pastry once beloved in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany during the era of Marie Louise of Austria—feature a curved form with openings on both ends and distinctive ridges.

Their shape makes them ideal for lighter, more fluid sauces, which are easily captured inside the pasta. Chifferi Rigati pair wonderfully with a simple tomato sauce, but they also shine with beef, pork, or vegetable-based preparations.
